Zack loaded his shot gun. Those things were beating on the doors. His group only had a few mintues before they got in and Zack. wanted to get them by surprise.
"WE GOTTA MOVE NOW!!" Zack screamed as he cocked the shot gun.
He pointed it at the door as everybody got behind him.
"GO!" Zack yelled as he blew open the door. Three maulers sprinted in but were taken down before they got more then a few fett in. Zacks group sprinted out of the building. Maulers were everywhere. Sprinting at them from all directions. Zack and his group of people sprinted down the High way. Over turned cars and bodies lay every where. The sky was blood red. Screams came from all directions. A mauler jumped Zack behind a car but was brought down but the butt of his gun. They sprinted farther north as the heard gun shots getting closer. Zack stood and looked down at the giant city.
"We finally made it to Hell."

May 12th. Day of Days.

Like anything the idea of a virus destroying the world has been around since the days of the first Zombie movie. But the government took it too far. They thought it would happen some day so they needed to make a cure. So what did they do. They made the virus. They made it so they would have a cure. It wasn’t around. No need for a cure. But they made it any way. But they didn’t make it like a zombie you would see in a movie. See the virus attacks the brain. It kills every part of you brain you don’t need to live. It keeps the parts the run the main organs. But it also kept another part. We don’t know exactly what the part of the brain it is but it keeps the emotions for Hate. This creatures hate everything. Including each other. They kill every thing. If it moves they attack. But the funny thing is if there are Humans these creatures are best friends. They attack the humans. But as soon as the humans are dead then they kill each other again. The virus started out as an air born virus. But if you had you windows locked and doors closed you were safe. It lasted a good twenty minute’s. 11:34 to 11:50 on the night of May 11th. Nobody even knew what had happened until later on May 12th when all hell broke loose. But as soon as the government knew that the United States were going to be destroyed the bombed every country they could with the stuff. But before I get ahead of my self I better tell you what happened to me. I’m Zack. I’m 18 and a senior at my high school in Greenville Michigan. It’s a town of about 10,000 people. Nothing ever happens here. But it was lunch at my school and me and a bunch of my friends were standing in the parking lot when we heard a scream. We went to check it out. It was a girl I knew. Sally something. But there was a forty year old man biting her neck. My friend Mark pulled the guy off her. The guy jumped up and tried to bite him too. Mark shoved him back and the thing jumped on one of his friend, Biting him too. No you would think I would have helped them but I was just staring at the girl. She looked at me from the ground. Now the process I told you of how they turn into it seems like it would take a while but I reality it took less then 30 seconds. But in the transformation they underwent physical changes too. There teeth all became long and Sharpe. There eyes turned black and red swirling together in a dark vortex. Nails became claws and then they got off the ground. And then they started killing other people. As I went to help my friends I saw five more sprinting towards us from the street. Me and Mark looked at each other and sprinted towards the building. We raced inside and I looked down the main hallway. The school was full of the things. Screams came from all around.
“MARK! We gotta get to my car!” I yelled to Mark. We turned around to go back out and there stood one. HE stood outside beating on the door. Now I don’t know how to fight but when your this scared you can do cool stuff. I kicked the door open and it smoked it right in the face knocking it down. We raced out the door and too my car. It was a 1991 fire bird. It had some rust but still and good car. I unlocked the door and we jumped in. As I started it up a girl ran in front of us. I got ready to run her over when I saw that she was normal. I pushed open my door. She saw me door it and ran over to get in. I peeled out of that parking lot doing 60. As we were flying down the street my cell phone rang. It was my dad.
“Dad!? What’s happening?” I asked.
“I don’t know Zack. But I already have your brother and Mom with me. Where are you?”
“As of now I’m a block away from our house. This car is fast when need be.”
“Ok. Grab my guns at the house. Grab food to if you can.”
“Ok. Were do we find you?”
“We?”
“Marks with me and some girl we helped out.”
“Ok. Meet us outside of town.”
“Ok. Bye Dad.”
“Bye.”
We ripped around the corner.
“Why did you tell your dad we were a block away from our house? We are still across town.”
“Because we need weapons and food. And I knew he would just tell us to come find him if we were far away.”
Mark looked down.
The town looked like hell. Car crashes and those things attacking everything. There was a turned over school bus with kids still in it. As we passed I could hear there screams.
I floored it. With in five minutes we were at my house. We ran inside and I told both of them to grab food while got my dads guns. I’m no gun expert but I at least know how to shoot. My dad had a state police 12 gauge shot gun with extended ammo cylinder, Two 9mm pistols, a British 303 sniper rifle and a revolver style 22 pistol. As I loaded the shot gun I became aware that something was behind me.

May 12th. 12:03 pm. Part two of Day of Days.

I knew it was one of those things. I spun around but never got a shot off. The creature smacked the gun outta my hand and picked me up by my throat. As he held me off the ground like that he tried to bite me. I put my hand to his throat and tried to push him back but he was so strong. I knew I couldn’t hold him back much longer. Suddenly I heard a scream. Not of terror but like a war cry. I looked to the top of the stairs to see the girl we help jumping down the stairs towards us. She held a chefs knife. She rammed the knife into the top of the creatures head and it dropped me. I fell to the ground gasping for air.
“What’s…What’s your…name?” I asked between breaths.
“Candace.”
“Cool….”
In my mind all I could think was how beautiful this girl was. She was……No. Bad brain. Stay focus or you will die. I grabbed the shot gun and handed he a pistol.
We ran up the stairs. Mark stood there.
“Cars all loaded man.”
“Good. Lets get outta town.”
We ran outside and hopped in.
“I’ve got to get Mandy.” I said
Mark nodded. I peeled out of the drive way running down two of them. As the peddle touched the floor our heads jerked back. 110 down a 25 mph street I thought in my head. We reached Mandy and couldn’t find any of those things. I jumped out as the car came to a stop. I pulled out the shot gun and ran inside. I heard her voice coming from her room. I ran upstairs. I pushed open the room expecting there to be those things. But she was fine. Well expect for the fact that she was kissing another man. I knew him. His name was Jim.
“ZACK! When did you get here?” She said quickly pulling away from him.
“So the entire town is going to hell and you kissing another man?”
“What do you mean the towns going to hell?”
“People biting people. Its almost like zombies but deadlier.”
“Your kidding.”
“No I’m not. I was going to come get you and get you outta town. But I think I’ve changed my mind.” I said as I turned and walked out. They both followed me even though I had a gun.
As we walked across the lawn Mandy grabbed my shoulder.
“You cant just leave us here Zack!”
“Wanna bet.” Jim and Mandy were standing shoulder to shoulder. They never saw the creature coming. I did. I pushed past them and shouldered the rifle. The sigh landed on the middle of its chest. As it jumped at me I pulled the trigger. The repercussion almost knocked me over. The creature was no more. I stood breathing heavy. I must have stood there for a couple minutes because when I turned around Mandy and Jim were in my car.
Jim had the nerve to be sitting in the driver seat.
“Hop in Zack. I can drive for you.”
I put the barrel to his cheek.
“If you don’t get out of my car or at least my seat. ‘m going to shoot you. If you talk to me I will shoot you. If you TALK I will SHOOT you. Do I make my self CLEAR!”
“Yes. Very…Very much so.” He said as he climbed into the back seat.
I’ve never drove that fast in my life. Or that good. Every sain person in the city was in a car trying to get out. I was swerving in and out of car lanes. I remember Mark yelling for me to slow down but I didn’t. Truth fully I think that that was the only thing from me shooting the kid. Mark leaned over and spoke in my ear.
“What’s so damn important about her? You’ve dated her for like 5 months and I don’t think she is anything special.”
I reached up and pulled a small box out of my pocket. I handed it to Mark.
“What is this?” His eyes grew wide as he opened it. Inside was a Diamond engagement ring.
“This…..This is real?”
I nodded.
“Wow. Ok. Drive as fast as you want man.”
I figure that my dad wanted us to meet outside of town because of the fact that there were less of those things. There was a certain amount but every body out here was crazy. Women were being raped and killed. Looting was everywhere. People lay on the side of the street to drink to even crawl. I saw my dads car. I stopped and got out. My mother lay dead. My little 5 year old brother lay ten feet from her. As I saw him I fell to my knees and vomited. As I knelt there I felt a blade being placed on the back of my neck.
“We’ll be taking you women and food. It would also be best dropped your gun.”
“Are you the one that did this?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because the world is coming to an end. Anarchy is now law.”
“That’s BS and you know it. I’m so sick of this world. Cheating girlfriend and murderous thieves. Dead parents also suck. So it would be in your best interest to walk away.”
“Why would that be?”
“Because I stopped caring.” I said with a smile. “Your life. My life. Anybody’s life. What’s the point.”
“Your creeping me out a little.”
“So you gonna walk away?”
“N….” Was all he got out. I had thrown my left arm back pushing the blade off my neck, allowing me too stand. As I stood the barrel of the shot gun was raised to his chin. His head disappeared in a bright light. As he fell to the ground I pointed it at the man he was with. The man turned and ran. I shot anyways. I walked over to my car and pointed the barrel at Jim.
“WHY SHOULDN’T I SHOOT YOU? HUH? WHY!”
“Because….Because….” He started to tear up.
I pulled the trigger. But nothing happened. I hadn’t cocked it. I threw it to the ground and walked to my brother. Kneeling by him I burst into tears.
“Zack…..is that you?”
“Billy. Oh my god….”
I picked him up and held him.
“ Zack I hurt all over.” He said as he began to cry.
“Everything’s going to ok.” I said as more tears came down.
“Where’s mommy and daddy?”
“There ok. Its gonna be ok.”
“Why are you crying….”
“Because I’m so happy to see you.”
“I’m tired.”
“Its ok. Its ok. You can go to sleep. Its ok.”
“Night bro bro. Love you.”
“Love you too bro bro.”
Billy closed his eyes. A minute later his chest stopped moving up and down.
I know Mark walked up to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
