It's about as big as I hoped it would be. I was afraid that some of the people I wanted to join would think it was stupid, and not want to be in it. But all the regular posters, and more, joined up, and enjoyed it.

There's actually more members than I originally thought there would be, and though we lost a few in the move here, we still have a good number of members. Not so many that we lose track of who everyone is, but not so few that it's boring. We have enough to be a "close-knit group of friends," I'd say.

Definitely a great success.

Why do you think this club has become so popular? What do you think prompted people to join? What made them say "hey this club looks interesting, let's check it out?". We know there are many clubs on Marvel.com, so what made this one so special?

Well I think it's because it was centered around Ultimate Marvel, which of course all the members love. Plus, everyone loves getting to know new people.

I thought the thread was needed on Marvel.com because oftentimes people like Sam and Karan would go off-topic on the post discussing things going on in the Ultimate Universe, or just having conversations. The Ultimate Marvels gave them a place to put these conversations.

People have described your relationship to the man known as Dragynwulf, quite "complicated". What do you think of Dragynwulf? What are your personal thoughts on a man who has tried to destroy, The Ultimate Marvels, on numerous occasions, yet failed! And of course, if he's watching this televised event right now, do you have any words for him?

I think he enjoys his power too much. Truthfully, I imagine him as a pitful individual...he would have to be, to try to show how powerful he is in someplace like an internet forum. Probably very insecure. He tries to justify himself a lot, but it ends up being filled with holes. And if these holes are exposed, he has no reaction other than his knee-jerk: to ban you.

If he's reading this right now...all I have to say is, this was no victory for you. And I don't think there ever will be any.

Yes, that is correct a1.

It formed about a year and a half ago, at band camp actually. I had always wanted to start a ska band, but had never known anyone who liked ska enough to be in one with me. So I introduced all my friends to ska, until I had enough fans to start a band. It started out with me and my friend Mike (bass) jamming in our band camp room, and then we got my friend Scott, who I had been in bands with before, to play drums for us. Since we were at band camp, it wasn't hard to find a trumpet and a sax player (especially since my girlfriend at the time played sax).

When we started practice, I didn't own an electric guitar, so I used my acoustic, or borrowed a friend's. Soon I got one, and a good amp too. But our trumpet player usually couldn't show up to practice because of hockey. So we asked a guy we didn't even know, who was a year older than us, to play trumpet for us, because he was the best in the school band. He agreed.

We played our first show at a Frazzel Snazzel party, playing 3 covers and 2 originals. I forgot the words to a couple songs.

Our second show was our school's Battle Of The Bands, where we initially didn't make the audition. But then they decided to let one more band in, and they picked us, as the last band. We ended up getting 2nd place out of all the bands, and won free recording time at a professional studio. That was about a year ago.

I write all the lyrics and songs. It usually happens a different way every time. Sometimes I'll think of some lyrics and a melody, and the music will fall into place, or sometimes I'll be fooling around on guitar, and find some cool music, and then the melody will fall into that. Then of course I have to write a different part for every horn, and see what I want from the bass and drums, etc.

I think we sound most like Reel Big Fish, as that's where we get most of our inspiration.

My musical idol is Danny Elfman, film composer and frontman for Oingo Boingo. I'm also a big Streetlight Manifesto fan, and, of course, Reel Big Fish.

The name comes from a sign outside the Impression 5 Science Museum. I went to see a play my friend was in, right next to I5, and we looked in the museum, and saw a sign with their hours, that stated they were open latest on Thursdays. That just seemed bizarre to me. They weren't open late on Friday, or Saturday...but on Thursday.

The best place we played was the Temple Club in Lansing (R.I.P.). It's a huge club where lots of big acts played, and we got to headline there. We were even able to fill the place up. We were on a huge stage, in front of over 100 people, and we played the best show we ever have. It was one of the best nights of my life.

We've released a 3-song demo CD, entitled "iPod On Shuffle," and plan on recording more this summer, hopefully releasing a 6-song EP, or, hopefully, a 12 song album. We dont' have titles yet, but I think "Take Off Your Flannel" would be a sweet name for an album. =P

Comic books, of course!

I also love hanging out with my girlfriend, watching TV/movies, playing guitar, and just listening to music. I just love writing songs. Oh! And I love daydreaming about being famous...yeah...I think that counts as a hobby.

I believe this will be its permanent home. We don't want to get lost in the jumble of Off-Topic clubs, and DragynWulf would probably nuke it immediately anyway.

Plus, I like it better with us having our own boards to roam in. It's more private.
