Basicly Iron Man is talking what looks like to himself and he explains that when he went back in time to stop Dr. Doom he met King Arthur and during that period he saw visions of what looks the civil war. He then begins to cry and admits that it wasn't worth it. We then see that this whole time he was talking to Cap's corpse.

A backup story shows Cap two days before getting shot and being escorted to prison. He has a small conversation with one of the Capekillers and then Iron Man walks up. They both exchange verbal attacks toward one another and Cap recites a quote that states as follows:
"Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, war. He is the only one that gathers his bretheren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out and help to slaughter of his own species who have done him no harm and whom he has no quarrel... And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for the 'Universal Brotherhood of Man'-- with his mouth."
Cap asks Iron Man who said that and that it was meant for Tony. He accuses Tony of starting the war. He finally asks Iron Man if it was worth it. Tony before he leaves calls Cap a sore loser to which Cap agrees.
